Obituary from an unknown newspaper, date unknown, photographed from an Obituary Book at the City Library in Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA:

Vera Marie Hurst, daughter of Deskin S. and Jessie M. Hurst, was born near Indianola, Ia., May 1, 1910, and died Oct. 21, 1964 at the age of 54 years, 5 months and 20 days.

She was united in marriage to William Coffman April 4, 1928, at Knoxville, Ia., and to this union was born nine children, Merrill, Mildred, Dorothy, Evelyn, Edna Mae, Raymond, Eldon, Richard and Rodney. Rodney died in 1957.

Besides her husband and children she is survived by her father, Deskin Hurst, four sons-in-law, Howard Sargent, John Kreider, Larry Boucher and Leroy Bales; two daughters-in-law, Joyce and Betty Coffman, 11 grandchildren, Kenny and Kathy Sargent, Rhonda, Johnny and Lori Kreider, Pammy Boucher, Tommy and Anita Bales, Barbie Coffman and Elizabeth and Will Coffman; two brothers, Loren and Edward Hurst; and two sisters-in-law, Lorraine and Maxine Hurst.

She was preceded in death by her son, Rodney; mother, Mrs Deskin Hurst, and a sister, Nina.

But ours to wait for God's own time
To lift the cross we bear.
