Emmet Loren Huss, 83, of 350 N.E. 48th Place, retired from John Deere in Ankeny, died of a heart ailment Thursday at home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Dahlstrom Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Huss was born in Winterset and lived in Des Moines most of his life. He was a member of Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mattie; two sons, Gary of New Virginia and Lloyed of Marshalltown; a daughter, Naomi Caulk of Des Moines; four step-daughters, Leola Marshall, Mary Isbell and Betty Russell, all of Des Moines, and Sue Hill of Johnston; three sisters, Nola Hilderhand and Marjory Olgsbee, both of Winterset, and Gladys Kizett of Tennessee; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
