Obituary from The Record-Herald and Indianola Tribune newspaper, Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA, date unknown:

Barbara Lee Woodyard, 68, of Carlisle died of complications of Parkinson's disease Friday, May 4, 2001, at Kavanagh House on Grand Avenue in West Des Moines. Services were held May 8 at Richardson Funeral Home in Carlisle. Burial will be at a later date at Carlisle City Cemetery.

Mrs Woodyard was born in Des Moines and had lived in the Liberty Center area before moving to Carlisle in 1958. She retired after 20 years as junior high secretary at Carlisle public schools. She was an excellent cook, loved to read and enjoyed playing bridge and golf with her friends.

Survivors include her husband; Bill; a daughter, Kathy Ostendorf of Urbandale; and a son, Robert of Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Family Life Center or to her church, Carlisle United Methodist Church.
