Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 1-20-2004:

Robert Dean Howard, 79, died January 18 at Madison County Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 21 at the St. Charles Parish Church. Visitation will start at noon on Tuesday at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with family present to greet friends 6 to 8 p.m.

Survivors include wife, Helen; daughters, Diana (Kevin) Lindsey of Des Moines, Linda (Paul Madsen) Pound of Waukee, Roxanne (Dennis) Beeler of Truro and Melanie (Roger) Ritchey of Indianola; sister, Judy Frey (Bernard) of Texas; twelve grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was a 50 year member of Model Lodge #315 A.F.& A.M. and Model Chapter #174 O.E.S.
