Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 6-22-2006:

Robert James Hoover, 60, died on June 21, 2006 in Des Moines of cancer.

Robert was born October 17, 1945. He graduated from Indianola High School and from AIB in Des Moines. He served his country in the U.S. Navy on the U.S. S. Hubbard during the Vietnam War. He had electronics positions in North Dakota, Wisconsin, and Des Moines. He enjoyed biking, drawing, yard work, nature as well as playing several musical instruments. His favorite book to read was the Bible. many will remember Rob for his helpfulness to others.

Robert is survived by his sister, Betty Hoover and her husband, Randall Brown of Clive; two nieces Cheryl Short and Margaret Eldridge of Tampa, Florida and two aunts, Florence Smith of Indianola and Alice Tjaden of Des Moines.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Margaret Hoover and sister, Carol Mitchels.

The family respects and honors Robert's wishes to not have a service.
