Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 9-19-2003:

Mr. Billy Byron Hilsabeck, 84, passed away September 17, 2003 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Mason Funeral Home in Pleasantville, with burial in Pleasantville Cemetery.

He spent his entire life in Pleasantville, never living farther than 5 miles from town. His main occupation was farming. although he had sold cars and done other jobs through the years. He was a member of the Pleasantville Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma (Patch); two sons, Billy Joe Hilsabeck of Calmar, Iowa and Richard (Dick) Hilsabeck of Pleasantville; three grandsons, Brian Hilsabeck of Vandalia, Missouri, Blake Hilsabeck of Pleasantville and Tyler Hilsabeck of Des Moines; great-granddaughter, Emma Hilsabeck of Vandalia, MO; and his dog, Wiggs.

Friends may call at the Mason Funeral Home after 11 a.m. on Friday where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasantville Senior Center.
