Obituary from an unknown newspaper, date unknown, photographed from an Obituary Book at the City Library in Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA:

Nora Jane Hilsabeck was born Sept. 21, 1884, near Pleasantville, and died at the Lutheran Hospital, Des Moines, Feb. 26, 1941 at the age of 56 years, 5 months and 5 days.

She was united in marriage to David Melick of Milo, Ia., Jan. 21, 1922.

Her death was caused by an auto accident which occurred on the day preceding her death. Everything that doctors, nurses and loving hands could do was cheerfully done but she passed away the following morning at 2:15 o'clock.

The relatives who mourn her departure are her husband, David Melick; one daughter, Mrs. Beulah Douglas, of Des Moines; three sisters, Bertha Gardner, Des Moines, Lillian Wareham, Indianola, and Flossie Wells, Chicago, Ill.; and one brother, Barney Hilsabeck, of Pleasantville, Ia., and many friends.

Her entire life with the exception of a short time that she lived in Des Moines was spent in Pleasantville and near Milo.

She was of a a kindly disposition, a loving wife and mother, a good neighbor, never sparing herself in behalf of others.

A short service was held at the Fielding Funeral Home Milo Saturday, March 1, at 1 o'clock, followed by services at the Methodist church in Pleasantville conducted by the Rev. C.A. Calkins. Interment was at Pleasantville.
