Virginia Lucille Chumbley, daughter of Amelia and Jesse O. Frazier was born July 2, 1911 in Warren County. She died Oct. 3, 1981 at the Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 70 years.

She was a resident of Warren County and Indianola all of her life until she moved to Des Moines in 1968. She graduated from Indianola High School in 1928.

On April 10, 1936, she was united in marriage to Guy A. Chumbley. To this union, a son Dan, and a daughter, Mary Ann, were born.

Surviving are son, Dan, of Costa Mesa, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs William Nessen, of Des Moines; and five grandchildren, Julie and Lori Chumbley; Melissa, Jennifer, and Ryan Nessen. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Betty Parry of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a brother, Paul Frazier of Iowa City, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services conducted by John W. Long were held Oct. 6, 1981 at the Overton Funeral Home. Interment was at the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
