Obituary from The Record-Herald and Indianola Tribune newspaper, Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA on 12-23-1987:

Funeral services for Mrs. Norma Lea Dyer, 53, of rural Indianola will be held today, Dec. 23, at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in the Indianola IOOF Cemetery.

Mrs. Dyer died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1987, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines of cancer.

Born near Lacona, she had lived most of her life in Warren County. She was a 1951 graduate of Indianola High School. She had resided on an acreage south of Indianola since 1964. Previously she had lived in Indianola from 1952 until 1964. She had worked as a diet counselor during the past three years and was the owner of Diet Center franchises in Chariton, Albia and Pella until this past year. She had previously been employed by Simpson College in the departments of data processing and financial aid and by the Warren County Oil Company. She was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church, Shakespeare Club and Simpson Guild.

Surviving are her husband, Merwyn; two sons, Maurice of rural Indianola and Grant of Indianola; her parents, Lloyd and Ethel Bushido of Indianola; two brothers, Richard Borchert of Des Moines and Wendall Borchert of Boulder, Colo.; one sister, Eleanor Murray of Indianola; and four grandchildren.

Overton Funeral Home handled arrangements.

The family requests memorial contributions be given to her church.
