John L. Borchert, 83, of Safford, Ariz., died Wednesday, March 18, 1998. Burial was in Alamogordo, N.M.

Mr. Borchert was born in Lacona and had lived in Lineville and Mesa, Ariz., before retiring. Survivors include his wife, Frances, two daughters, Jennell West of Alamogordo, N.M., and Phyllis Harper of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandson. Several nieces and nephews from Warren County also survive.

Sears Funeral Home in Alamogordo, N.M., handled arrangements.
