Lloyd Orval Borchert, 88, of Indianola died of a heart attack Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1997, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Services were held Jan. 11 at First United Methodist church, of which he was a member, with burial at IOOF Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Borchert was born in Lacona and lived most of his life in Warren County. He was manager of Warren County Oil from 1939 to 1943 then worked for the U.S. Postal Service until 1973. He was a member of Warren Lodge in Indianola.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel; two sons, Richard of West Des Moines and Wendell of Boulder, Colo.; a daughter, Eleanor Murray of Indianola; two brothers, Kenneth of Janesville, Wis., and John of Safford, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Overton Funeral Home handled arrangements.
