Henry Bernard Borchert, 69, died Tuesday, May 18, 2004. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 21 at the Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1900 N. 4th Ave. E. in Newton.

Henry is survived by his wife, Eva of Kellogg at Rock Creek Lake; three sons and daughters-in-law, Brad and Becky Borchert of New Virginia, Greg and Nicki Borchert of Cedar Rapids and Scott and Kris Borchert of Marengo; two grandchildren, Bailey and Grant Borchert of Cedar Rapids; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Leland and Norma Borchert of Newton, Paul Borchert of Altoona, Glenn and Dorothy of Knoxville, Marvin and Dorothy of Des Moines, Edgar and Marlene Borchert of Lacona and Larry and Pat Borchert of Pleasantville; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Myrtle Smith of Des Moines, Gloria and Floyd DeWitt of Chariton, Grace and Virgil Hartz of Newton, Ilene Borchert of Des Moines and Joan and Myron Briese of Melcher; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Wallace Family Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials to Our Savior Lutheran Church, Hospice of Jasper County or the American Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home or the church on the morning of the service.
