Melvin John Dittmer, 63, of Indianola died of a heart ailment Saturday, Nov. 22, 1997, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Knoxville. Services were held Nov. 29 at St. Mary Catholic Church at Rosemount, with burial at the church cemetery.
Mr. Dittmer, a farmer, was born in Warren County and was a long-time Lacona and Warren County resident. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include four sisters, Mary Ann Gary of Des Moines, June Rouse of Indianola, Hilda Schaffer of Weldon and Norma Gotta of Romeo, MI.; and two brothers, Donald of Williamson and Carl of Sandyville.
Mosher Funeral Home in Milo handled arrangements.
