William Herman Bishop, 67, of Melcher-Dallas died of lung cancer Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1993, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Services were held Sept. 30 at St. John Lutheran Church in Melcher-Dallas, with burial at St. Paul Cemetery.

Mr. Bishop was born in Woodburn and moved to Melcher-Dallas in 1976. He retired as a drill operator for Pittsburg-Des Moines Steel and was a member of the Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn; two sons, Mark of Melcher-Dallas and Dennis of Knoxville; a daughter, Ann Allen of Knoxville; five brothers, Howard of Norwood, Harrell of Des Moines, Bernardo of Austin, Minn., Bennie of Blooming Prairie, Minn., and Ronald of Ottumwa; three sisters, Wilda Clark of Lacona and Shirley Kent and Norma Jean Chipp, both of Lucas; six grandchildren; and three foster grandchildren.

Mosher Funeral Home handled arrangements.
