Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 5-15-2007:

Services for Wilda Clark, 94, of Lacona will be Wednesday, May 16, at 10:30 a.m. at the Lacona United Methodist Church. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Lacona.

Memorials are requested to her church or the Lacona Fire and Rescue. Condolences for the family may be left at www.pierschbacherfuneralhome.com .

Wilda was born Aug. 2, 1912 near Woodburn, Iowa to Dave and Nora Bishop. She was the oldest of twelve children. Om June 17, 1933 she married Waldo Clark and they were blessed with two daughters: Janice and Joanne. Wilda retired from the Lacona Post Office and also worked as a telephone operator and was an Avon Lady. She enjoyed these jobs as it kept her in touch with the community. Her cooking and family dinners were outstanding.

Wilda is survived by her daughters: Joanne (Dwayne) Manser and Janice (Don) Stanley both of Lacona; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Howard Bishop of Chariton, Jim Bishop of Austin, MN, Benny Bishop of Blooming Prairie, MN, Ron Bishop of Ottumwa, Shirley Kent of Lucas, and Jean Chipp of Lucas.
