Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 6-17-1982:

Bess Ripperger was born May 14, 1893 to Rose and Richard Anthony southwest of Pleasantville, and died May 20, 1982 at her home in Des Moines.

On Sept. 30, 1924 she was united in marriage to Isadore Ripperger. Bess helped raise his two children. They lived several years on a farm south of Pleasantville and later moved to the Melcher-Dallas area until moving to Des Moines in 1951.

Isadore preceded her in death Dec. 10, 1970. Others preceding her were her parents, brothers and sisters Alva, Orville, William, Arch, Jennie Gran, and Emma Seuferer.

She is survived by children Florine Cota and James Ripperger of Des Moines, three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held May 22, 1982 at Caldwell-Brien-Robbins Funeral Home in Des Moines with Rev. Nelo Leto officiating. Interment was at Sandyville Cemetery, Sandyville.
