Arthur "Tony" Anthony, 80, of Pleasantville died of a heart attack Saturday at Des Moines General Hospital. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Pleasantville Christian Church, of which he was a member. Burial, with military honors, will be at Pleasantville Cemetery.

Mr. Anthony was born in Marion County and was a lifelong Pleasantville resident. He was a retired Pleasantville City Works director, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Pleasantville American Legion and Pleasant Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; a son, Miles of Pleasantville; three daughters, Marsha Raitt and Molly Schneider, both of Carlisle, and Marlene Risinger of Waukee; a brother, Merrill of Pleasantville; five sisters, Dorothy Surber of Windsor, Calif., Mildred Hoffman of Alexandria, La., Norma Snodgrass of Des Moines, Irma Hudson of Baxter, Minn., and Marjorie Dop of Pleasantville; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and three step-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. today at Mason Funeral Home in Pleasantville, where there will be a Masonic service at 6:30 p.m. and the family will be present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to his church or Pleasantville Recuse Unit.
