Obituary from The Record-Herald and Indianola Tribune newspaper, Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA, date unknown:

James W. Amos, 90, a resident of Cedarcroft Nursing Home in Valley Park, Mo., died of complications following surgery on Friday, March 8, 1991.

Mr. Amos had lived in the Browns Chapel area southeast of Indianola until the mid 1920s when he moved to St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Flossie Joy (Sandy), who was from Liberty Center.

Survivors include a son, James L., two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, all of St. Louis; and a sister, Mary Smith of Ames.

Gerber Funeral Home of Webster Groves, Mo., conducted graveside services.
