Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 6-17-1995:

Cornelia "Billie" Hess, 72, of Indianola died of cancer Thursday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Overton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Hess was born in Pella and lived in Indianola most of her life. She was a homemaker and past noble grand of Rebekah Lodge.

Among survivors are her husband, Claude; four sons, George of Polk City, Charles of Indianola, Norman of Kingman, Ariz., and Timothy of Des Moines; two daughters, Virginia Plummer of Tuscon, Ariz., and Becky Clark of Indianola; a brother, John Hesseling of Altoona; three sisters, Grace Odin of Council Bluffs, Minn Shephard of Davenport and Gertrude Young of Indianola; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
