Funeral services for Boyd Hendrickson Weeks, 81, of 411 North G St. will be held Tuesday, June 26, at 11 a.m. at Overton Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Indianola IOOF Cemetery.

Mr. Weeks died Sunday, June 24, of cancer at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. He had been hospitalized for the past five days.

Born in Warren County, he had lived all his life in Warren County. He had worked at Solar Aircraft Co. in Des Moines. He primarily worked as a self-employed carpenter, painter and brick mason.

Surviving are his wife Doris; three sons, Bill of Grinnell, Jerry of Olathe, Kan., and Jim of Indianola; four daughters, Mrs. Shirley Culbertson of Indianola, Mrs. Betty Dittmer of Milo, Mrs. Dixie Reece of Indianola and Mrs. Judy Johnson of Chariton; two brothers, Harold of Des Moines and Gerald of Peru; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Long of Des Moines; 26 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, seven stepchildren, 23 step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Boyd Hendrickson Weeks, son of Aburg and Letta Ferguson Weeks was born Nov. 9, 1902, in Warren County and died Sunday, June 24 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines at the age of 81.

He worked at Solar Aircraft Co., the Ordinance Plant in Ankeny, and owned and operated a service station in Indianola for several years. Boyd was a self-employed carpenter, painter, and brick mason.

Surviving are his wife Doris; three sons, Bill of Grinnell, Jerry of Olathe, Kan., and Jim of Indianola; four daughters, Mrs. Shirley Culbertson and Mrs. Dixie Reece both of Indianola, Mrs. Betty Dittmer of Milo and Mrs. Judy Johnson of Chariton; two brothers, Harold of Des Moines and Garald of Peru; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Long of Des Moines; 26 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, 7 step-children; 23 step-grandchildren; and 7 step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services conducted by the Rev. John W. Long were held Tuesday, June 26 at Overton Funeral Home. Interment was in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
