Clifford Earnest Hembry, 82, of Milo died of a heart ailment Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Services were held Nov. 16 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rosemount, of which he was a member, with burial at the church cemetery.

Mr. Hembry was born in Grand River and had lived there and in Hartford and Indianola before moving to the Milo area in 1945.

He was a retired butcher with Indianola Locker, a Navy veteran of World War ll and a member of American Legion Post 263. He enjoyed family activities and gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret; five daughters, Theresa Ripperger of Greensburg, Ind., Mary Ford of Theodosia, Mo., Ann Garner of Milo, Karen Jenkins of Forest Grove, Ore., and Phylis Runyon of Chariton; two sons, William of Olympia, Wash., and Douglas of Milo; two brothers, Homer of Leon and Jim of Lamoni; a sister, Lois Wilson of Salina, Kan.; 20 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Mosher Funeral Home in Milo handled arrangements.
