Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 12-3-2002:

Edna Louise Putney, 88, of Indianola, died of a heart ailment Sunday at Westview Care Center there. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Indianola, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Independent Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery there.

Mrs. Putney was born in Greenfield and had lived in rural Indianola most of her life. She was a farm homemaker and enjoyed playing cards, bingo, embroidering a plastic canvas and corresponding with others.

She is survived by three sons, Harold of West Des Moines, Pete of New Virginia and Dale of Indianola; a daughter, Mary Berry of Indianola; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to her church or the Westview Care Center.
