Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 5-10-2012:

Lloyd, passed away May 5, 2012 in a V.A. facility in McAllen, Texas. A long time Indianola resident he had been living in Texas full time since 2003. Lloyd had owned a blacksmith shop from 1948 until 1960 then he went to work for the Armstrong Tire and Rubber Co. retiring in 1977. Lloyd served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. Because of his service he was a 50 plus member of American Legion Post # 165 in Indianola, Lloyd also was a 50 plus year member of Warren Lodge #53 and O.E.S. also in Indianola.

Family and friends visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2012 at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola. Masonic services will be at 5 p.m. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday also at the funeral home. Preceding in death was his first wife Deloris in 2001. Surviving are his wife Velma of Mission, Texas; daughter, Janis (Bob) Parker of Indianola; son, Marvin Surber of Indianola; grandchildren, Jodi DeMayo and Rob Parker; four great-grandchildren, Ceylan, Aidan, Ceren and Cemre Emir.; and two step-sons, Dennis and Duane Robinson of Thompson, Iowa.
