Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 7-17-1988:

Fred Dewey Hutchcroft Sr., 90, of Westview Care Center in Indianola died of a heart ailment Friday at the center. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Overton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Indianola Independent Order of Odd Fellows Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Hutchcroft was born in White Oak Township in Warren County. He had farmed and worked as a carpenter. He retired in 1963 from the maintenance department of Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in Des Moines, after 10 years there. He had also dome maintenance work for R.M. Hale Ford Dealership. He was a member of Center Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Viola; two sons, Robert of Cummings, Ga., and Frederick Jr. of rural Indianola; a daughter, Virginia Cornell of rural Ackworth; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
