Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 12-3-2002:

Jean Smith, 62, of Indianola died Saturday at the home of a relative in Milo. The cause of death is unknown, pending results of an autopsy. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial will be in the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery in Indianola.

Mrs. Smith had lived in Indianola all her life. She was a retired executive secretary with the Iowa Department of Education and attended Chapel of Faith Church in Indianola. She enjoyed camping and traveling with others.

She is survived by her mother, Lila Clary of Indianola; a sister, Ann Fridley of Milo; and a brother, Kenneth Clary of Liberty Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Chapel of Faith Church.
