Obituary from The Record-Herald and Indianola Tribune newspaper, Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA on 7-23-1962:

Services for Signalman First Class Dean Beeler, 39, who was killed in a fall aboard a ship just out of San Diego, Calif., where he was stationed, will be held at the Peterson Funeral Home Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

Beeler had been in the service for almost 20 years and had planned to retire in December. He served in the Navy during World Wad II, was out a year, and then re-enlisted.

Survivors include two children, Danny, 12, and Elaine, 9, of San Diego; five brothers, Guy of Indianola, Paul of Charleston, S.C., Max of Oregon City, Ore., Lloyd of Glendale, Calif., John jr. of North Highlands, Calif., and one sister, Mrs. Olive Davis of Keokuk.
