Obituary Indianola Tribune November 20, 1935

William Kline, son of Joseph and Catherine Kline, was born in 1845 in Stark county, Ohio. His death occurred at Lacona,
November 11, 1935, at the advanced age of 89y 11m 11d.

His parents moved to Indiana in 1856 where they spent one year. Later they established their home in Logan county, Illinois.

In 1868 he was married to Martha Linson of that place. He, with his wife and small son, came to Iowa in the fall of 1870 came to this community in a covered wagon settled on the W.A. Stewart farm near Lacona. They suffered the hardships and privations common to that period. With the exception of a few years spent near Milo he lived near and in Lacona.

During his lifetime of nearly ninety years, he witnessed the many changes which go to make up the history and development of our country. Possessing a keen mind and an exceptional memory, he could recall events occurring in his early childhood with accuracy.

He and his wife celebrated their sixty-seventh wedding anniversary, a pleasure enjoyed by few. They were able to maintain their own home until the death of the wife April 19 this year.

Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Paul Habliston of the Methodist Episcopal church assisted by Rev C. Hugo Orf of the Methodist Church of Milo. The music was furnished by a mixed quartet, Mr. and Mrs. George Riddle, Mrs. Bert Snooks and Darrel Parkins. Burial was in the Belmont Zion cemetery near Milo.
