Obituary of Mrs. Clara J. Pyle

Mrs. Clara J. Pyle was born in Richland township February 22, 1866. She was a daughter of J. H. and Phoebe Shetterly, who were pioneers of Warren county, coming here from Indiana in 1849. She lived her life and secured her education in the public schools of this county. She united with the Baptist church at Hartford when a girl of 19 years and lived a quiet, sincere, Christian life. She was married to Mr. B. B. Pyle of Hartford, Iowa, Januray 5, 1892. A daughter was born to this union and died in infancy. Mrs Pyle died at their home near Hartford, October 17, 1909 of cancer of the stomach. The funeral was held in the Presbyterian church at Hartford, Iowa, October 19, 1909 Rev. Kell, pastor of the Presbyterian church officiating. She leaves a husband and one brother, Abraham Shetterly of Pratt, Kansas, to mourn her loss. Interment was in the Hartford cemetery. The friends and relatives have the sincere sympathy of a large course of friends and relatives in this hour of their sorrow and bereavement.
