Services for Vernon L. Hill, 92, who passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the Adel Acres Care Center will be held 11 a.m., Monday, June 23, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, Iowa with burial following in the Webb Cemetery.
He was born in Des Moines and enlisted in the United States Navy during WWII serving a a rifle range instructor. After his commitment to the Navy he returned to Spring hill and opened Hill's Garage. In 1998, he and his wife, Ruth, moved to Adel.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ruth; sons, Jerry (JoAnn) Hill of Gold Canyon, AZ and Dan (Kim) Hill of Adel; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Steve and Randy Hill; and one grandson, Jamie Hill.
