Betty J. Vanderlinden,74, of the 700 block of Bancroft St. died of a heart attack Tuesday at home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Richardson Funeral Home in Carlisle. Burial will be in Hartford Cemetery in Hartford.

Mrs. Vanderlinden was born in Des Moines and had lived in Indianola before returning here 20 years ago. She was a retired salesclerk with Yonkers and a member of Chesterfield Christian Church. She enjoyed cats.

She is survived by two sons, Donnie of Moulton and Garry of Des Moines; a brother Tommy of Jasper, Ark; seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa Inc.
