Emily H. Strable, 76, of Wick died of cancer Wednesday, March 16, 1994, at home. Services were held March 18 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Martensdale, with burial at Wallace Cemetery near Wick.

Mrs. Strable was born in Madison County on January 20, 1918, and lived in Wick the past 34 years. She was a homemaker and member of the Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Charles; two sons, Jerry of Des Moines and Donnie of Wick; three daughters, Phyllis Carey of Des Moines, Charlene Dudney and Maxine Simpson, both of Wick; a half-brother, Bill Rhoades of Boise, Idaho; a sister Jerry Cook of St. Charles; a half-sister Jessie St. Louis of Burlington; 17 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

Overton Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church of Hospice of Central Iowa.
