From February 14th to April 18th, 1918, the Advocate-Tribune newspapers, Indianola, Iowa, included caricatures on the front page entitled “Indianola People You Know” with little bodies, big heads, and tiny images around each person recounting their lives.

Cashier of the First National Bank of Indianola since 1913 – Started in the banking business at Guthrie Center in 1905 with the 1st National Bank, first as a book keeper, in 1909 assistant cashier and in 1910 cashier. Born in Waterloo, IA… While still in school he was employed working on power lines in his spare time… In 1904 he won 1st prize in the state high school oratorical contest….Was the 1st secretary of the Indianola Commercial Club….. Was an assistant secretary in the Iowa Senate in 1909….. He likes to fish
