From February 14th to April 18th, 1918, the Advocate-Tribune newspapers, Indianola, Iowa, included caricatures on the front page entitled “Indianola People You Know” with little bodies, big heads, and tiny images around each person recounting their lives.

He has been in the automobile business five years and sold 1,500 Ford cars “Some Record!”…. Garages in Indianola, Osceola, Earlham… Educated in Indianola High School, Simpson College, and Iowa State College….For judging stock at the State Fair, he won a scholarship for two years to Iowa State College at Ames…. Auto accident - an experience of his the year he had the polo team… He likes to see a good wrestling match….He is a 32nd degree Mason, and member of Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, Des Moines
