SIDNEY FREDERICK YUGEND
S. F. Yugend, M. D., Indianola, was born at St. Paul, Minnesota, Dec. 8, 1910, the son of Samuel and Minnie Yugend. Dr. Yugend attended the University of Minnesota, where he graduated in 1936 with the degree of bachelor of science. He continued his studies at the University of Minnesota, receiving the degree of bachelor of medicine in 1938 and degree of doctor of medicine in 1939. He served his internship at the Polk County General hospital at Des Moines.
Sept. 8, 1940, Dr. Yugend married Harriet Bertine Hooper, daughter of Carl and Clare Hooper. Mrs. Yugend was born at Swan Feb. 10, 1923. Dr. and Mrs. Yugend have two children: Carl Frederick, born in August, 1941, and Linda Lee, born April 2, 1947.
Dr. Yugend is a member of the American Medical association and affiliated groups. He is a member of the staffs at Mercy and Methodist hospitals in Des Moines. He belongs to the Minnesota Alumni association, the American Legion and the Lions club. In World War II he spent four years on active duty with the United States army. He is a Presbyterian and Republican. Home; 1004 North C street, Indianola.
