ALDEN EDWARD SMALLEY

Sept. 25, 1907, he married Selina Ann Wickett, daughter of Richard Ashton and Elizabeth Ann Wickett of Virginia township. Mr. and Mrs. Smalley are the parents of six children: Gerald M. (died at two years of age); Arland K., Richard W., Raymond E., Harold G., and Goldie M. Mr. and Mrs. Smalley also have 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Smalley passed away March 8, 1950. Mr. Smalley has lived on his farm in Virginia township for 51 years. He is a working member of the Methodist church, has taught the same Sunday school class for almost 17 years, and holds four positions in his church. He was a school director 13 years, and a township trustee nine years. This is a fine record on behalf of the church and the community - (A.E.S.) [written by Alden Edward Smalley]
