WILLIAM THOMAS SINNARD
William Thomas Sinnard, the first agricultural agent of Warren County, was born at Sandyville July 9, 1875. He is the son of Phillip King Sinnard and Mary Jane (Myrick) Sinnard. After completing his elementary education, he attended Indianola High School and Simpson College.
Feb. 16, 1898, he married Ulda Igo, daughter of Lewis and Elizabeth (Varner) Igo. Mrs. Sinnard was born at Palmyra Jan. 28, 1877. The Sinnards have two daughters: Winifred Blessie (Jones), born Jan. 27, 1899, and Elizabeth Mary (Hines), born June 5, 1901.
In 1918 W. T. Sinnard, at that time manager of the Farmers Exchange, was largely responsible for the organization of the Warren County Farm Bureau, and served as the first county agricultural agent. Mr. Sinnard believed that agricultural production did not measure up to the money and labor expended by farmers, and he states that our soil is not producing nearly as much as it should.
Mrs. Sinnard's father came to Warren County in 1855, and settled at Palmyra where he was highly successful in business and farming. Mr. Sinnard states that he is by birth a Methodist and by letter a Presbyterian. In politics he is a Republican. He belongs to the Indianola Garden club, the Kensington club, Order of Eastern Star and White Shrine. Mr. and Mrs. Sinnard live at 305 East First avenue, Indianola.
