THOMAS T. SANDY
Thomas T. Sandy was a farmer in Otter Township and was a member of a family that came to Warren County during the early pioneer period. Born at Sandyville Aug. 27, 1868, he was the son of William and Elvira (Lambert) Sandy. He received his formal education in the rural school, located one and one-half miles north of Sandyville. Feb. 19, 1902, he married Eva Reeves, daughter of Robert and Sarah (Chick) Reeves of Milo.
Mrs. Sandy was born in Belmont township Nov. 25, 1871. The two children of Mr. and Mrs. Sandy are Arvetta Christenson, born Sept. 28, 1903, and Aileen King, born May 4, 1911. The Sandys were affiliated with the Methodist church and in politics they supported the Republican party.
William Sandy, father of Thomas T. Sandy, was probably the first of the Sandys to settle in Union township. As far as the facts are known, his first wife died three years after he first came to Warren County, and he then returned to Indiana. On the way he met his father, Jeremiah Sandy, and they passed each other in their wagons but not did recognize each other. After they had passed, the children recognized each other as they looked out the rear of the covered wagons.
