FOSTER SARCHETT
Foster Sarchett, who owns and operates a farm six miles west of Indianola, was born July 11, 1905. He is the son of T. H. and Rose (Glasscock) Sarchett, and was born and reared on the farm on which his father lived for almost 90 years and which was entered by his great-grandfather, Simon Thomas. The latter farm was recently sold to C. ,D. Seibert.
Mr. Sarchett's grandfather, John M. Sarchett, enlisted in Company G of the 10th Iowa infantry during the Civil war, and was killed by bushwhackers while on picket duty at Charleston, Missouri, in 1862. After the close of the Civil war, Mrs. John M. Sarchett married J. F. Lough, who had gone through the Civil war as a Union soldier from West Virginia, and who had migrated to Iowa after the close of the war.
Nov. 26, 1924, Foster Sarchett married Lois Marie Hammon, daughter of C. C. and Clara (Maine) Hammon. Mrs. Sarchett was born on a farm near Indianola July 1, 1903. The Sarchetts have one daughter, Jeannine Rae, born Feb. 12, 1930.
Mr. and Mrs. Sarchett are active members of the Methodist church. Their political ties are with the Republican party. He is a member of the Farm Bureau and Modern Woodmen.
