GLADYS M. RITCHIE
Gladys M. Ritchie, who lives about three and one-half miles north of Indianola, was born on her parents' farm April 20, 1904. She is the daughter of Alfred F. and Mary E. Ritchie, born Aug. 25, 1867, and April 13, 1869, respectively. Her grandfather, Clement Ritchie, settled north of Indianola in 1871. Her father passed away May 6, 1949.
Miss Ritchie graduated from the Indianola high school in 1922. She attended Simpson college, where she graduated with the degree of bachelor of arts in 1927. She received the degree of master of arts from the State University of Iowa in 1931. Miss Ritchie belongs to the Farm Bureau, Thursday Stitchery club, Jefferson Highway club and Rural Women's chorus. She worships in the faith of the Presbyterian church. Her political affiliation is with the Republican Party.
