MARVIN B. REED
Marvin B. Reed was born in Virginia township Nov. 25, 1907, son of Dell and Maud (Fouch) Reed. He was raised on a farm and became acquainted with stock and grain farming. He married Alma Ruth Felton, daughter of Carl and Ella Felton, Dec. 18, 1926. Children of Mr. and Mrs. Reed are: Leona, who married Albert Aldridge, and Doyle James and Karen, who are at home. Mr. Reed faced squarely the financial difficulties of depression years. His tireless energy and good judgment won over the difficult conditions under which he started to establish a home. In 1937 he started in the produce, feed and garage business at New Virginia. In October, 1944, it became necessary to find larger building space and the commodious building of O. C. Russell was obtained. Appliances and implements were placed in stock. Three employees are required to take care of the trade.—(A.E.S.) [written by Alden Edward Smalley]
