THOMAS EDWARD POPE
T. E. Pope, retired farmer of Madison, Saskatchewan, Canada, was born at Knoxville, Iowa, Nov. 24, 1868, the son of William Wallace and Laura (Jenkins) Pope. T. E. Pope married Cynthia Ann Starbuck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Star-buck, June 15, 1893. Mrs. Pope was born in the Browns Chapel neighborhood on Aug. 15, 1871.
Children of Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Pope are: Lavaughn, who married Frank Hal-penny, was born Feb. 23, 1895; Georgia, who married Harold Currier, was born April 4, 1897; Robert Pope was born Dec. 4, 1898; Wilma, who married Cash Hodson, was born March 3, 1900.
In 1918 Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Pope moved to Canada, where he had purchased land near Madison, Sask. They were accompanied by their daughter Lavaughn and son Robert. Mrs. Pope died June 18, 1948, and was buried in a cemetery near Kindersley, Sask., Canada. The youngest daughter, Mrs. Hodson, died Jan. 12, 1945, and is buried in the cemetery at Ackworth. The Halpenny's reside in Kindersley, the Curriers in Indianola and the Popes near Madison.
