WILLARD W. PETERSON
Willard W. Peterson, mortician at Indianola, was born at Ellsworth Feb. 4, 1915, son of Fred L. and Lydia J. Peterson. He is a graduate of the American Institute of Business, Des Moines, and the College of Mortuary Science, St. Louis, Missouri. Willard W. Peterson married Georgia Johnson, daughter of George T. and Josephine Johnson, Dec. 27, 1940. Mrs. Peterson was born at Belmond Feb. 22, 1917. Mr. and Mrs. Peterson have three children: Jon F., born Sept. 17, 1946; Barbro Jo, born Jan. 23, 1948; Norton S., born June 15, 1949.
During World War II Willard Peterson served 32 months in South Pacific theater. He belongs to the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and in 1949-1950 he was commander of the American Legion post. In October, 1946, Mr. Peterson purchased the Orr Funeral home. To observe his fifth anniversary in business a new electric Hammond organ was installed in the home in 1951.
Mr. Peterson also is a member of the Masonic lodge, I.O.O.F. lodge and the Indianola Chamber of Commerce. T h e Petersons are members of the Methodist church. Their political ties are with the Republican party. Their home is at 602 East Salem, Indianola.
