CLIFFORD CONRAD PETERSON
Clifford C. Peterson, superintendent of schools at Indianola, was born at Emerson April 12, 1906, the son of Ferdinand and Hilda Peterson. Mr. Peterson received the degree of bachelor of arts from Iowa State Teachers college and the degree of master of arts from the State University of Iowa. He has continued his graduate work at Chicago university and Northwestern university.
July 19, 1933, he married Loraine Louise Mundt, daughter of H. D. and Bertha Mundt. Mrs. Peterson was born at Toeterville May 8, 1910. Mr. and Mrs. Peterson have four children: Jeanne Loraine, born Nov. 19, 1934; Roger Kermit, born Feb. 14, 1936; David Ferdinand, born Sept. 25, 1944; Mary Louise, born June 20, 1947.
Mr. Peterson's experience in teaching and school administration includes his work as coach and teacher at Big Springs, Nebraska, 1926-28; principal, coach, and teacher at Elliott, Iowa, 1928-33; superintendent of schools at Shannon City, Iowa, 1933-38; Dallas Center, 1938-51; Indianola, since 1951.
Mr. Peterson is a member of Rotary, Phi Delta Kappa, American Association of School administrators, National Education association, and Iowa Education association. Fraternally he belongs to the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons. The Petersons are members of the Methodist church. Their political affiliation is with the Republican party. The Peter-sons live at 1106 North Buxton, Indianola.
