FRENA M. PARSONS
Frena M. Parsons, who lives on her farm near Hartford, was born near Summerset July 20, 1885. She is the daughter of John W. and Jeanette (Jennie) (Pilmer) Laverty and the granddaughter of James and Mary Laverty, early and widely known settlers of Warren County, Oct. 18, 1905, Frena Laverty married Preston M. Parsons, son of George Wesley and Jeanette (Ralston) Parsons. He was born on the Parsons farm one and one-half miles southeast of Hartford April 17, 1885. Children of Mr. and Mrs. Preston M Parsons are: John Wesley, born June 27, 1908; Carl Laverty, born Oct. 1, 1910; Eugene Melville, born June 6, 1912; Jennie Virginia, who married Stanley Knoll, born Dec. 2, 1915.
The 327-acre farm, on which Mrs. Parsons and her son Eugene live, has been in the Parsons name since the land was entered from the United States government. The house on the place is 99 years old. The brick and mortar used in building the house was hauled from Red Rock. Mrs. Parsons belongs to the Community church at Hartford. In politics she gives her support to the Republican party. She has been vice-chairman of the Warren County Republican Central committee, and she is still committeewoman for Richland Township.
