MYRON SINGER ORR
Myron S. Orr, furniture merchant of Indianola, was born at Lorimor March 31, 1907, the son of Harry L. and Mary (Singer) Orr. After attending Simpson college for two years, he studied mortuary science and is a graduate of the College of Mortuary Science, Des Moines. On June 15, 1928, Mr. Orr married Dorothy Louise Newkirk, daughter of John and Carrie Newkirk. Mrs. Orr was born at What Cheer in Keokuk county March 28, 1908. Mr. and Mrs. Orr have three children: Mary Louise (Hattery), born March 15, 1932; Myra Jane, born March 12, 1935; Richard Wayne, born June 15, 1937.
Since 1925 Mr. Orr has been with the firm of John J. Orr & Son. Prior to 1946 the firm operated a furniture store and funeral service. Mr. Orr is a Republican in politics; a Methodist in faith. He is a member of the Lions club, Masons, Consistory, Shrine, I.O.O.F., and the Indianola Cham- ber of Commerce. Mr. and Mrs. Orr live at 1109 North B street, Indianola.
