LEE NORRIS
Lee Norris, farmer of Virginia Township, was born in Madison County in 1895. He is the son of Commodore Perry and Dora (Robinson) Norris. In 1915 Mr. Norris married Fern Tufts, who was born in Warren County in 1897, the daughter of Samuel and Alta (Banghart) Tufts. Mr. and Mrs. Norris have five children: Verna Lee, born in 1915; Lysle Wayne, born in 1917; Wilma Ruth, born in 1919; Albert Lloyd, born in 1921; Rae Elaine, born in 1930.
Both Wayne and Lloyd Norris served in the United States air force during World War II. Wayne completed four years of service as pilot and second lieutenant. Lloyd completed 50 missions over Germany as gunner in a 10-man bomber crew. When Mr. and Mrs. Norris lived at Ackworth, they worshipped in the Friends church of that place. At New Virginia, where they now live, they are affiliated with the Methodist church Mr. Norris belongs to the New Virginia Lions club, and his political tiei are with the Republican Party.
