LESTER HARL MYERS
Lester H. Myers, mayor and former pharmacist of Indianola, was born at Lacona Feb. 25, 1894, the son of Furman M. and Mollie L. (Helliger) Myers. He attended Lacona High School and graduated from Babcock's Institute of Pharmacy and Chemistry in 1915.
Oct. 17, 1917, Mr. Myers married Blanche B. Cuppett, daughter of Arthur and Jeanette (Rorback) Cuppett. Mrs. Myers was born May 8, 1897, in Wright county. Mr. and Mrs. Myers are the parents of two daughters: Helen Jeanette (Piffer), born Feb. 17, 1922, and Ruth Louree (Lindaman), born March 11, 1928.
Mr. Myers served in the U. S. navy during World War I. He was in the retail drug business in Indianola from 1919 to 1948. From 1927 to 1928 Mr. Myers was a member of the Indianola city council. Since 1949 he has served as mayor of Indianola.
Mr. Myers belongs to the Masons, including the Consistory and Shrine. He is a member of the American Legion and the Rotary club. The Myers belong to the Methodist church and their political affiliation is with the Republican party. Address: 410 West Ashland, Indianola.
