WILLIAM E. LACOX
William E. Lacox, owner and operator of the Corner Sundry store in Indianola, was born on a farm in Adams county March 2, 1905, the son of Albert Eugene and Maple (Forest) Lacox. After graduating from the high school at Nodaway, Mr. Lacox attended Simpson College for one year.
Aug. 17, 1927, Mr. Lacox married Mabel Holdren, daughter of John and Cora Holdren. Mrs. Lacox was born at St. Paul, Nebraska, Oct. 7, 1907. Mr. and Mrs. Lacox have three daughters: Crystal Norine, born Sept. 4, 1930; Twyla Rodene, born March 30, 1934; Marilyn Gail, born Sept. 27, 1937.
Mr. Lacox was a member of the board of education at Nodaway for nine years. He also served on the town council and was mayor of Nodaway. For nine years he was township assessor. Prior to coming to Indianola in 1946, Mr. Lacox had engaged in teaching, farming and operation of a grocery store. His religious affiliation is with the Methodist church and his political ties are with the Republican Party. Mr. and Mrs. Lacox live at 204 1/2 West Salem, Indianola.
