LESTER E. HOOPER
Dr. Lester E. Hooper, physician and surgeon of Indianola, was born at Lacona July 24, 1888, the son of Samuel Elmer and Laura Adeline (Freel) Hooper. He attended Swan high school, and Keokuk Medical college where he received the degrees M.D. and Ph.G.
Dr. Hooper married Emma Clella Smith, daughter of John H. and Anna F. (Hunt) Smith, May 22, 1912. Mrs. Hooper was born Sept. 3, 1886, in Marion county. During World War I Dr. Hooper was first lieutenant in the medical corps. He is a member of the Presbyterian church, American Medical association, Iowa State Medical association, Warren County Medical society, the Des Moines club, Masonic lodge, Des Moines Consistory, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, and the Indianola Chamber of Commerce. He has been a member of the American Legion since its organization. His political ties are with the Republican party. Address: 406 East First avenue, Indianola.
