HARRY LLOYD GRANGE
Harry L. Grange, principal of the Indianola High School, was born at Mineral Point, Wisconsin, Jan. 13, 1907, the son of Charles H. and Annie E. Grange. Mr. Grange received the degree of bachelor of education from Wisconsin State Teachers college at Platteville, Wisconsin, in 1930. He received the degree of master of arts from Drake university in 1941.
Aug. 3, 1934, Mr. Grange married Ruth Mumma, daughter of Emanuel and Grace Mumma. Mrs. Grange was born Aug. 3, 1907, at Bethlehem, Iowa. Gwendolyn Ann, only child of Mr. and Mrs. Grange, was born Nov. 15, 1938. In the fall of 1930 Mr. Grange joined the faculty of Indianola high school, teaching government and economics. Since 1942 he has been principal of the high school. For a number of years Mr. Grange directed the Indianola high school band in addition to his other duties, and developed it to a firm position in the community. He is a member of the Methodist Church, the Lions club, and the local chapter of World Federalists.
In 1950 Mr. Grange won the community service award sponsored by the Indianola Business and Professional Women's club. In 1945 he served as a member of the Indianola city council. His political ties are with the Republican party. Mr. and Mrs. Grange live at 1005 North Howard street, Indianola.
